af:marie Makeup Bag is a nice, smaller bag crocheted in a decorative bobble stitch pattern. It is worked from the bottom up in a spiral tube, and the bottom is then sewn together into a flat square. Adding a lining to the bag is optional.

Supplies:

  • Crochet hook size 3mm (US C/2, UK 11) (Remember to check your crochet gauge)
  • Cotton yarn e.g. Drops Safran (50 g = 160 m) – 3 skeins of yarn
  • Grosgrain ribbon or other types of ribbon for closing the bag.
    Width: approximately 1.5-2 cm. Length: approximately 1 m.
  • Two sets of snap fasteners, 7 mm
  • Tapestry needle, sewing needle and sewing thread
  • Ribbon ends (optional)
  • Lining fabric (optional)
    (Solid woven fabric. You will need 2 pieces measuring approximately 27 x 29 cm)
  • Sewing machine (optional)

 

Crochet Gauge: 21 sc = 10 cm (If you do not achieve this gauge try using a larger or smaller size hook).

Stitches in the pattern:
Ch: Chain
Sc: Single crochet
Dc: Double crochet
Bs: Bobble stitch
Sl st: Slip stitch
